Final Campfire Speech from Ben Richardson, Cayuga

It has been an incredible summer this final year in Cayuga. Here are some words from my bunkmates, making this speech a bit different than all of the rest. As oldest Cayugans, we took on a new responsibility and focused on leading the village. We also had to put our differences aside to set the example for younger campers. Just last week, the oldest bunk got the opportunity to lead a mass monkey, a moment that all of us will surely never forget. CHL was also another opportunity to lead the younger campers by supporting them while playing. These things bring us together as brothers and help us forget our problems for the greater good of the village.

I myself came into a bunk with more athletic kids, and I had to learn to adapt to their way of playing which helped me become a better athlete. This shows how Cayuga brothers can help each other in many different ways. Being in Cayuga has created a lot of memories. I will see a hockey stick, a bunk bed, or a campfire and it will remind me of our good times in Cayuga.
