Our village is having a great start to summer 2010! Last Thursday, Onondaga was down at the waterfront all afternoon. The campers of O2 were the first to take on waterskiing! Special shout outs to Anna Stevens, Emily Boller, Nicole Ferero and Hillary Haas for being some of the first to brave the cold water! We plan to have another waterskiing period so that everyone gets a chance. The other bunks had a fun time sailing and playaking. O1 fit all 9 campers and 1 counselor in the new “war canoe” which can hold up to 12 people!
Friday was the first day of hobbies. Onondaga has a lot of talented campers this summer. A large group will be actresses in this year’s play, Annie. The auditions went great and the village is excited to see their friends perform in a few weeks. Geffen Wiener and Sam Mauser are awesome athletes in the Cross Country hobby group. Chloe Fleishcher, Jessica Sherin and Sarah Freedman are perfecting their sailing skills while Sydney Cohen learns the art of Yoga. The village and the rest of camp will be able to see how talented our friends are at the Hobby Culmination, which will take place the last week of the session.
Shabbat was very peaceful this week. Since the day is less structured than the rest of the week, campers were able to choose how they wanted to spend their day, whether it was learning how to fish, reading on the docks, or playing Newcomb at Athletics.
