Mohawk Basketball Marathon

Yesterday, Mohawk continued the long tradition of the annual July Basketball Marathon. Unlike previous years however, the staff and campers this summer had to compete with the blistering heat. Sun-block was applied liberally as Mohawk campers and staff took shifts in the pool to cool down while still having at least 5 people on the court playing basketball at all times. The village was divided into 8 teams that competed in a three on three basketball tournament throughout the day. Sam Bitker, Josh Hurwitz, Jacob Schnaufer, and Avery Dibble were the last team standing. Mohawk ended the marathon by grilling hamburgers and corn out by the basketball courts. When the final horn sounded, we had played basketball for over 12 hours straight. Despite the heat and exhaustion, campers were all smiles as they sprinted back to the village to grab showers. Playing basketball for over 12 hours straight is something that no one in Mohawk will soon forget.
