Annie

BRAVO!!!
Our July camp play, Annie, was a smash hit. The entire cast did a phenomenal job.

This show was, without a doubt, the most challenging show we have chosen at CSL in the last decade and the cast rose above and beyond our expectations for them. They learned lines, songs and dance numbers in only eight hobby sessions. Their performance was absolutely magical to watch and I could not be more proud of them. Tears welled up in my eyes more than once as I watched them belt out songs like “It’s a Hard Knock Life” and “Tomorrow.”

Before the play we sat down with the cast and asked them to share their feelings leading up to the performance. Child after child spoke about how excited they were to show their friends all the good work they’d done. They talked about how much fun they had and the friends they had made. It was extremely satisfying for us, as directors, to hear them say out loud the goals we had set for them at the start of the session.

After the show they jumped up and down hugging each other at our cast party in the dining hall. It was so exciting to see the pride they felt in their work.

I have no doubt that you will have Annie songs stuck in your heads at home, and for that I apologize, but it was truly and honor to work with your children. I can’t emphasize enough, what an exceptional group they are!
